Our family started attending Calvary Heights in 1993. In 2005, Bonnie was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was the start of something very special in the providence of God for us. A friend of hers gave her a quilt from Cozy Quilt Ministries during radiation treatment. Bonnie was so impressed with this ministry that she joined the group and started making quilts. Little did she realize the hand of God would have the first quilt she made be for John after being diagnosed with skin cancer for the first time. We both became involved on the executive staff of Cozy Quilts and Bonnie has personally given out over 200 quilts.
The start of Everlasting Mercies Ministry was out of need to help spiritually, emotionally, and physically those that were stricken with any sickness or trial (not just cancer). This is done through prayer, literature, and other items such as quilts. Our name comes from Psalm 100:5, "For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations." Our goal is to encourage the saints and give hope to all through Jesus Christ our Lord. As the name implies, this will continue till Jesus comes.
