We place a top priority on our Children’s Ministry at Calvary Heights. We believe that the precious souls that God has entrusted to us are worthy of love, time and commitment. We believe that our children are able to embark on a relationship with God and to establish a life of faith at a very young age. We believe that the future of Calvary Heights is dependent upon our understanding of God’s desire to embrace our children and to give them every opportunity to embrace Him. It is because of these beliefs that we are fully committed to the children and to present to them every opportunity that will allow them to accept Jesus as their Saviour and to establish a relationship with him that will affect their lives and eternity for good.
We provide three main opportunities for our children to worship and to learn about God and the Bible in ways that are tailored to their specific age groups. First, Sunday School is available every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for children ages 3 through 6th grade. We have several Sunday School classes that are appropriate for the different age groups of our children in order to more effectively minister to them.
Second, Junior Church is available every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. for children ages 3 through 5th grade. “Junior” Junior Church is available to our 3-4 year olds and Junior Church is available to children in kindergarten through 5th grade.
Third, the Awana program is offered every Wednesday during the school year at 6:30 p.m. for children ages 3 through 6th grade. More informational for this program can be found at https://calvaryheightsbc.com/awana.
In addition to Sunday School, Junior Church & Awana, we offer several activities throughout the year that encourage our children to grow in their faith and to find ways to serve the Lord in their church and communities. A couple examples of these activities are the annual Kids’ Country Fair and Mystery Bible Character Sundays. It is through the Children’s Ministry that we strive to reach our ultimate goal of helping to establish a foundation of faith in the lives of our children that is centered around a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible which will enable them to grow in their faith in God and to reach their potential within the ministry of the local church.
