I'm New

What Should I expect?

We understand that it can be a little intimidating visiting a church for the first time. Upon visiting, you will receive a warm welcome by our greeters, ushers, ministry leaders and church family.  Our hope is that you will experience spiritually-inspiring music, helpful teaching & preaching from the Bible and an atmosphere where you feel "at home."

What is the Sunday morning schedule?

People begin to arrive at 9:30 with our first service starting at 10:00 am.  This is primarily a teaching hour with Bible classes for all ages.  The adults meet in the auditorium while teens & children meet in classes downstairs.  The service starts with a few songs and then teaching lasts until 10:45 am.  The second service starts at 11:00 and is our main worship service.  It includes approximately 20 minutes of worship music and the balance of the service is spent being challenged & edified by the word of God.   Children up to sixth grade have their own "Junior Church" at this time.   This service usually ends around noon.

Do you provide child-care during the services?

Yes.  Calvary Heights provides a nursery for infants and children up to age three.  The nursery is a safe, clean environment that is well staffed by caring members of the church.  There are two rooms to our nursery ministry: infant and toddler.  There are windows to observe or check up on your children.  Each parent will be provided with a pager, should any child need additional attention.

What kind of music should I expect?

You will find our worship both deeply reverent and joyful.  Our goal is not to entertain or perform, but to glorify and honor God through the gift of music.  John 4:24 says, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth."  Therefore, our worship is theologically sound and deeply spiritual in nature.  We are blessed to be living in a day and age where there are an abundance of hymns & spiritual songs that meet this criteria.

How should I dress?

There is no dress code at Calvary Heights.
You will find that some people dress business casual while others dress in traditional "Sunday" dress.
As is often said, "Come as you are and leave better!"

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No.  We want our service to be a gift to the Lord and to you.  All giving is entirely voluntary and is to be God-led.
Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
